Many people have told me that they don't like ska, but they like my band
That's all fine and dandy, but I don't wanna be in a rock and roll band
And there's nothing wrong with a rock and roll band
It's just not the kind of band that I choose
I want to be in a ska band with powerful horns and nothing to lose
Sometimes people may tell me that we sound like this or a little like that
I don't want really want to sound like anyone else and that is a fact
And though we may sound like other ska bands, I still want to create our own
sound
I just want to make some good music for all the kids to keep jumpin around
Because...I don't wanna be in another rock band
And I don't wanna have all these undevoted fans
And I don't wanna be in another rock band
And all you've said to me, make's me realize and I see
That I don't wanna be just another money tree
That gets planted into your ground and makes you money from our sound
I just wanna be free
