Sitting at home, the telephone rings.
Old girl of mine looking to spend some time.
Now my girlfriend's away, I can't see no harm.
A couple of drinks and some talk of old times.
When the cat's away the mice will play.
We had such good time, a bottle of wine,
with some old friends of mine.
Then the next thing I knew, we were alone together.
We dimmed the lights, our bodies entwined.

Then a knock on my door, a spill of some wine.
I answer the door, and what do I find?
My girlfriend staring at me, boy, what a surprise!
Woman in my bed, holding a glass of wine.

To make a long story show could I this, in a calm sort of voice.
And then without an answer, I mean, what could I say?,
I just closed the door and that was goodbye...
